Black Hills native Susan Sheirbeck has been anticipating opening a gallery, home and garden store in Hill City for several years – just waiting for the right location to come along. And it did the fall of 2015 — an iconic property known for decades as the Bergin Black Hills Bungalow. Susan and her partner, Gervase Hittle, renovated the property to open in the spring of 2016 as insideout.
When Susan began assembling inventory for insideout, she knew exactly what she was looking for — well crafted products with timeless style, quality construction, and dependable durability. Stuff that puts the fun in FUNctional. And she wanted to offer product lines available no where else in the Black Hills region. As a result, insideout is the exclusive regional retailer for colorful and durable Fermob metal furniture from France, commercial-strength wood furniture from Louisville’s Oxford Garden, elegant Jerith fence from Philadelphia, and environment-friendly Loll furniture from Duluth. And wait until you put your feet in Glerups – probably the most delicious slippers you’ll EVER wear.
Education is also a insideout commitment. Our member artists and other expert friends offer classes, workshops and other educational activities to enrich the life of the community.
